Thanksgiving

Well another year is coming closer to a close. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. My buddy and I went to the local Smiths and picked up a 21.25 lbs. Gobbler. For Ten bucks, that was awesome.

I reflect back upon the last twelve months at what I and my family can be thankful for. There are many things, I'm glad to state.

We may be paycheck to paycheck but we have a roof over our head,clothing on our backs and food on the table. Things have tightened, but with adjustments we always come out just ahead. We sorta of saw the economic trends coming, so since I am on disability and my old friend is on VA disability, with my wifes check. We comfortably live together in a three bedroom apartment. This being our first year together, its worked out rather nicely. We all have our own space and since we have known each other for seems forever, twenty plus years, its more like family than roommates. We have regular meetings every so often to make sure things are going accordingly and fair, and if there are any issues we deal with them up front.
I'm thankful for my children, young adults that they are, my daughter Janise and her husband to be Marshall,(they've been putting it off for her perfect wedding) are doing great, they had a bit of a windfall with some investments and bought a home, paid it off as a matter of fact and this is in Tahoe. So I am happy and proud that ey will always have a home and my two Grandkids will grow up in the same neighborhood and schools throughout their lives. Awesome.
My Son Joshua, was doing great, working two jobs, got married to a wonderful young Argentinian women. My daughter in law Romina, is the sweetest. He had a few set backs, but he is healthy, still moving forward has the love of a women and family. I'm positive that though this year may have disappointed them a bit this year, next year will be awesome.
My daughter Lori, my acclaimed Actress and singer, has been working her tail off for a decade now. Yes she is a working actress. But she also made the time for her Associates degree and will complete her Bachelors next December from Western Illinois university. This young lady has the talent and the drive to make her own stars.

This year we got to visit with all the kids, grandkids in Tahoe, rare and not wasted, we had a great time hiking,talking,eating. It was so much fun. My wife and I need more of that. It went to fast, but we enjoyed every moment.

I am Thankful, that I am still here with the Love of my life, center of my Universe. Eva. Together almost twenty years, we've survived some tough times. But I think my bypass five years ago really shook her up. Well just had stint number six put in two weeks ago, my bypass arteries look great and I feel ,Old,lol. Fifty next year,but still here.
I'm writing again more frequently,I'm thankful I still can. Looking forward to self publishing, already in the works. Should be completed early next year.I also have more idea's for a couple of other books, so look out for next year and self publishing. I may get to like this way instead of the conventional way of printing. Oh and I got a newer and better camera, although I still like my old one best, for now.

I spent a lot of time with my parents, my Mom had some heart complications and to honest it scared the hell out of me. I had just left her side at the hospital and was laying down on the couch near my Father(he has a hospital bed at there home downstairs),he has cancer and Parkinson's when the doctor called the house, saying there had been an incident. They are both still with us, getting older, hanging in. But I worry.

We are committed to have a more productive year the next twelve months. Tightening the belt, more home food storage, I am going to learn how to CAN, I could use my Grandparents right about now,lol. I remember it so clearly as a child. Our home was always filled with aroma's of cooking, canning, baking, it also helped heat the home. It has become something of a lost art at least in my family. So here goes, already doing my research as I type.

Our family was lucky we did not lose many this year. My wife Aunt Paulette to cancer, My Aunt Audrie to old age, my cousin Harry Fuller to a terrible auto accident. Our cousin Birgitta in Sweden.You all will be missed.

So all in all, I would say we have much to be grateful for. We aren't rich, we don't have the fancy lifestyle some may boast about, but what we've got i wouldn't trade for anything. Well maybe a bit more cash wouldn't hurt. here that Lord.

I have been silent. Taking in that which surrounds my thoughts and fears, hopes and dreams. Then reality sets in.

I dream of an America where everyone, that is able. Takes seriously his or her responsibility to vote. Not their party or how people in a commercial tell you to but your concise. It is your right and privilege. Do Not treat this Liberty lightly.

I dream of an America, that has one hundred percent literacy. Everyone can teach a child to read, a parent, friend, neighbor, sibling, etc. etc. etc.. Being able to read was at one time honorable and rarer than you may think. Not everyone knew how. Seems history is repeating itself.

I dream of an America, where people line up to defend her. I am of a mind that a minimal two year commitment to our armed forces should be mandatory. For all rich and poor, no wavers, man and women. Before college.
Our Men and Women that serve today, are in dyer need to teach the next generation coming in. We need not a conflict or war to keep our due diligence 1000 percent.
We all know what the unemployment and college numbers are today for our young Men and Women, so start them off in the right direction.

I dream of an America that utilizes its aging plumbers,carpenters,electricians,etc. to field classes teaching those that can not serve, have served, are not college bound after service. That is the real way to fix our infrastructure problem in this country.

I dream of an America, that does not allow professional politicians. Limiting terms of all positions great and small. Most of our greatest statesmen and women climb to their pinnacle and return having served, a better civilian servant for their constituents after their time in office.

I dream of an America, that utilizes its large number of non-violent offenders serving time to other duties, such as military enlistment, re- educated skilled laborer, etc.
Break the cycle. Teach the people and things will change. It will work ground up.

I dream of an America. Thats has adopted the right laws to clean up the environment. Why doesn't every state recycle mandatory, look at Washington and Oregon state.

I dream of an America that opens its doors to all. As long as you do it the correct way, your welcome. Come, work, enjoy be fruitful. Stay become a citizen. Or go home. Simple

I dream of an America, where not only children can sleep with full bellies at night but not fear the adults that are supposed to be supervising and protecting them.
In the same dream I dream that homelessness has been eradicated. Its not a business it a sadness.

I dream of an America. That my Grandfather and his brothers envisioned like so many immigrants coming into Ellis Island. A new hope. Willing to work and fight for the chance. Nothing for free, except for the opportunity.

I dream of an America. Where we are American, not European-American, Afro-American,Asian-American, this-American, that-American, JUST AMERICAN. Heritage is great, but we will get further if we start realizing that we are all in the same pot.

I dream of an America. That has a fair tax system, not the British empowered system that we seemingly broke away from. True we are capitalist but please.
Have you ever wondered who controls the three companies that control your credit rating. Who are they, how did they come to be. Who do they really work for. Why can't you do the right thing and just start over.

I dream of an American Society thats stands up and does the right thing. Not the left or the right. Dems or Reps. But Americans all of us, 350 million plus strong. Stand up and tell those in charge that your tired. I want it the way it was promised. NOW.

There are a million things I dream of America to be. I will take America the way it is and I will do my little piece to change at least what I can do. We should be living the Science Fiction future our parents read about in the fifties, instead well I need not tell you.

I Love My country, from sea to shining sea. I don't think the elite in D.C or in the fifty capitols understand anything but their own world.
